Westlake Municipal Utility District No. 1 (Westlake MUD 1) understands the importance of water quality to its residents, and how concerning it can be to hear it might not be as clean as advertised.
Due to recent solicitors’ attempts within the Westlake MUD 1 boundaries, residents of the Westlake, Westlake Forest, and Westlake Village neighborhoods may have some questions about the “Water Quality” that is being distributed into their homes.
Due to these poor actors and their behavior, it is important to verify the accuracy and source of any information provided to a resident by a non-MUD or official operator representative in order to prevent the spread of potential misinformation. Often content dispersed by solicitors in the neighborhood is done so as a means of promoting certain products for sale, such as special filtration systems and other products that purport to improve water quality.
Public drinking water in the State of Texas is regulated by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Westlake MUD 1, in conjunction with their operator Inframark, tests the water regularly in the District infrastructure for all manner of contaminants as prescribed by the TCEQ. You can find the TCEQ list of testing and limits for Westlake MUD 1 here. You can further find the water quality report for Westlake MUD 1 on the website Documents page.
Westlake MUD 1 and Inframark would like to reiterate that the District’s water is in compliance with all TCEQ and EPA Public Drinking Water regulations.
For more information about water quality, or other operational matters, you can reach out to the District’s Board of Directors and the operator via the website Contact Us page.
